Dick & Sheila

Sheila's happy story

Nothing out there seemed to be working for me. But when I met Dick, it was a different story. He is a wonderful man. His wife passed away from breast cancer a year and five months before I met him. I was afraid to tell him I, too, had cancer – lymphoma. The night I was going to tell him, he asked, “Have you got cancer?” I started crying. I said, “I know you lost your wife and if you want to walk away, that's alright.” I was in the hospital shortly after that and got chemo. It was after that we moved in together. He didn't run. He stood by me. I am happy he came into my life.

Actually, I didn't even want to do any of this. I was pushed by coworkers and sisters who said I should meet somebody. I just went to work and went home that was it. I didn't go out to meet anybody. One day, one of my coworkers got this thing in the mail from The Right One. Somebody said, “Well, fill it out and send it back and see what they say.” Today, I am glad I did. We are having fun!
